Hello to all my Sew Punchy followers, new and old! My name is Kate, and I am the Cowgirl Seamstress making all things soft and cuddly for all ages to enjoy! I want to introduce myself and a little bit about my story for those that may not know me personally.

I spent most of my childhood growing up on my family’s large dairy heifer feedlot in the central valley of California in a town that was known to be “The Cowboy Capital of the World”. I was lucky enough to get my very first horse at 6 years old, and I never looked back! I participated in Junior, High School and College Rodeo, and I even competed at the Intercollegiate level in Polo. My husband and I met while we both were working at a dude ranch in Southwest Colorado during our summers in college, and we completely fell in love with the area. 10 years later and many out of state moves later, we have landed in a beautiful spot in Southwest Colorado that we call home. I compete locally in barrel races and rodeos on horses that my husband and I have raised and trained ourselves. My husband is a farrier and runs around all of Southwest Colorado for clients, so he is usually the guy that drops packages off at the post office for me almost daily!

in 2017, we added Miss Jolene to our herd, and she is our very first two legged baby. I began sewing while I was pregnant with Jolene to pass the time as I was no longer able to safely ride my horses in a very wet California winter. My sweet Mother-in-law gave me a crash course while visiting her in Texas when I was 5 months pregnant. I started out just making baby blankets for my friends who were expecting - but after one of the snowiest winters last year in Colorado, I had lots of time on my hands with being snowed in and not able to ride my horses as much. I started an Etsy shop, made a Social media page and that is pretty much the story behind how Sew Punchy was born! I made hundreds of blankets In 2019, and I probably made over 1,000 blankets in 2020!

Most of my blankets are western, farm, or animal themed as most of my audience is geared towards those genres. However, I can almost always find something for what you have in mind. If you are looking to cut the costs down on a blanket, ask me about different backing options!

I make baby, youth, teen and several adult sizes in almost every print you see, and I can also make pillowcases for your home or to match your blanket.

When I am not sewing, you can usually find me riding my horses, spending time with my husband and daughter and our fur babies, and enjoying these beautiful mountains we are lucky enough to see everyday!
